Bonjour! My name is Madame Emily Goold. I am an FSL teacher at Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Kanata, Ontario where I have been teaching for the past 13 years. My 21 years of experience has helped me fine-tune a variety of teaching strategies that best support student success. Prior to attending school, I had not been exposed to French but I was given the opportunity to attend francophone schools where I became fully bilingual. As a parent, I have encouraged my children to learn French as well. Currently, two of my daughters are enrolled in French immersion programs at the high school level and my eldest daughter is entering her second year of university after earning her French Immersion Certificate.
I strongly support the Ministry’s goals for FSL in Ontario, which are the following:
“Students will communicate and interact with growing confidence in French, one of Canada’s official languages, while developing the knowledge, skills, and perspectives they need to participate fully as citizens in Canada and in the world.”
